To become the region’s premier nonprofit ice sports destination, continually reinvesting in community programs, youth opportunities, and the growth of Virginia Tech Hockey.
The Vision
Our Story
This vision has been years in the making, shaped over countless hours spent on the road, in hotels, and at hockey rinks across the region while watching our kids grow and develop in the sport we love. As we became more deeply involved at every level of the game, from youth hockey to collegiate programs, our commitment to building something lasting for Southwest Virginia only strengthened.
Inspired by the gold-standard facilities found throughout Minnesota, we believe the nonprofit model is the most effective path to creating a premier ice sports complex for our community. A nonprofit rink exists for one purpose: to reinvest every resource back into local families, youth programs, and community-based initiatives.
Our goal is twofold:
To establish a sustainable, long-term home for ice sports that fuels the growth of hockey in Southwest Virginia
To finally provide Virginia Tech with its first dedicated ice facility, a milestone that is long overdue.
With decades of combined experience in hockey and a deep passion for its development at all levels, our team is fully committed to building a facility that elevates youth players, strengthens collegiate hockey, and serves the broader community for generations to come.
