Joey Mullen

Secretary

Joey Mullen grew up in the Roanoke, Virginia area, where hockey has always been a family tradition. His father played professionally for the Salem Raiders, and two of his uncles went on to compete in the NHL. With that foundation, hockey quickly became a lifelong passion.

Joey’s playing career included travel hockey, junior hockey, ACHA Division III hockey at Radford University, and several semi-professional appearances. After an injury ended his competitive career, he turned to coaching, returning to Radford University for four years behind the bench. In 2010, he joined the Virginia Tech Men’s Hockey program, where he has proudly served as head coach for the past 15 years.

Today, Joey works in sales and lives in the Roanoke Valley with his wife, and their two children. His commitment to developing players and growing the game continues to guide his work both on and off the ice.
